Year: 1249
great many miles in the far North of Ferramorrah lies the mountainous and frozen tundra that is the realm of Ivalice. Since time immemorial this land has been divided into nine separate provinces or “holds,” each with its own leader, the jarl. Each of the nine jarls answers to the high-king of Ivalice. However, a civil war has broken out between two rival factions within Ivalice, the Imperials led by General Tollius and the Stormcloaks led by Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak for the throne. With the strange new appearance of dragons in Ivalice, creatures that have not been heard of for centuries, this ancient land faces peril not seen before.
A group of adventurers brought together by the sudden appearance of dragons in the land of Ivalice, a land that has not seen head nor tail of dragons in well over five centuries. The group is “led” for lack of a better term by the former broom salesman/animal trapper Franklin O’Reilly. Joining him in his adventures to uncover the mystery of the dragons are the mute and deaf wizard Shizune and the commanding Companion warrior Datrian.
They now have banded together, adventuring across the frozen landscape of Ivalice in hopes of finding the source for the re-awakened dragons, and to discover what has caused evil to spread across the land like a plague. Their only hope is to band together, and seek help from the allied factions of Ivalice, from which their group’s name is derived (The Companions, The College of Winterhold, The Thieves’ Guild, The Dark Brotherhood)
